MISSION >

The mission of The Skating Club of Saugerties is to provide skaters with programs and training, both private and in classes, to assist them in pursuit of their figure skating goals.  The club is dedicated to the values of good sportsmanship and ethical practices and will incorporate these values in our daily routines and training programs.  The club is committed to promoting the sport of figure skating by providing a professional and safe learning environment, in which skaters are encouraged and given every possible opportunity to reach their personal best in the sport.

Programs....

We offer  our Basic Skills Program & Bridge Program.

The Basic Skills Program is for the beginner skater through beginning Jumps& Spins.This is Learn to Skate USA skating levels:  Basic 1-Basic 6.

The Bridge Program is for the skaters looking to expand their skating skills.This is  Learn to Skate USA skating levels Pre-Freeskate - Freeskate 6

Skating Academy 

Mondays 4:30-5:30pm

Learn to Skate classes are for children & adults interested in learning the fundamentals of skating or enhance their basic skating skills. Group classes are organized by skating skill levels & ages, when possible. The classes are 30 minutes long and include admission onto the public session after

the class. 

Learn to Skate

Saturdays 2:00-2:30pm

Junior Coaches is an unpaid position during our Skating academy & Learn to skate. They will assist our coaches. Skaters are expected to commit to coaching for the entire season.

JR Coach Program

Mondays 4:30-5:30pm 

Saturdays 2:00-2:30pm

S.T.A.R.S. is a new system of off-ice fitness assessment and development designed to support U.S. Figure Skating's existing testing and competition progressions.

Freestyle Sessions are for those figure skaters who are preparing for testing, competitions and shows.

Wed & Fri 4-6pm,

Sun 5-6pm

Figure skaters can learn to transfer their artistic nature to the ice by creating a theatrical program. Our goal of the program is to incorporate the arts into figure skating via theatrical performance.
